FRANKFURT/MAIN - March 2013. Most burglars enter through windows or doors. A burglar resistant front door or apartment door reduces this risk considerably. Consumers can now distinguish these doors by the blue certification mark of European Certification Body (ECB). The first ECB•S-certified models have just been launched on the market.

As a preventive measure, ESSA - The International Security Association recommends data cabinets and data rooms with ECB•S certification. they are certified according to the European Standard EN 1047-1 an dEN 1047-2 and protect digital assets in the event of fire.

FRANKFURT/MAIN - December 2012. ESSA - The Internatioal Security Association organises a joint stand at Intersec in Dubai. On 90 sqm, seven members will present their range of products together with the ESSA: Products providing protection against burglary and fire (data security) as well as high security locks.

FRANKFURT/MAIN - Dec. 2012. On a global basis, ESSA – The International Security Association now has 135 members from 33 countries, a double-digit plus on the previous year. These latest figures were reported by the leading association of the security industry at its General Assembly in Frankfurt on 22 November 2012, where its Chairman, Harald Lüling, and its Managing Director, Dr. Markus Heering welcomed more than 140 security specialists from all over the world. One special subject of the event was the manifestation of "fear of crime" in European countries.

Gas Attacks on ATMs are dangerous: New standard for ATM safes with gas protection

FRANKFURT/MAIN - Oct. 2012. According to the statistics compiled by the German Federal Criminal Police (BKA), more than 100 ATMs were blown up in Germany over the last five years. In addition, there were blow-up attempts. This demonstrates the huge risk potential of every single explosion: The criminals not only destroy the ATM safe itself; they also put nearby people and objects at risk. Now, for the first time, the European Standard EN 1143-1 includes the additional "GAS" designation: European Certification Body (ECB) uses it as a basis for the ECB•S certificate for ATM safes with additional gas protection.

FRANKFURT/MAIN - Oct. 2012. More than 130,000 burglaries in private homes per year raise the question: How secure are our valuables? Without solid protection of valuables, it is a high risk gamble - with a high-quality safe, the chances of not having a loss when it comes to the crunch are good. A visible sign of the quality of a safe is the ECB•S certification supported by the European Security Systems Association (ESSA). This association is also a partner of the “Tag des Einbruchschutzes” (Burglary Protection Day) campaign which will start on 28 October 2012 as part of the Crime Prevention programme in Germany at federal and Laender level.
